Item Description
Upgrade your vehicle's TPMS system with this set of 1 pre-programmed tyre pressure monitoring sensor. This OE-replacement sensor provides accurate pressure readings and keeps your dashboard TPMS warnings working as intended.
OE part number(s): F2GZ1A189AB
Radio frequency: 315 MHz
Compatibility
- Ford F-150
- Ford Explorer
- Ford Mustang
Installation & programming
- Remove the tyre, deflate it fully and unbolt the old TPMS sensor from the wheel.
- Install the new sensor on the rim and tighten to the manufacturer's specified torque.
- Reinflate the tyre, balance the wheel and remount on the vehicle.
- Drive for several minutes at 15 mph (24 km/h) or more to allow the sensor to self-register.
- If the ECU does not recognise the sensor, run the vehicle TPMS relearn procedure.
- As a last resort, use an OBD-II TPMS programming tool to write the sensor ID to the ECU.
- If OBD programming fails, repeat steps or consult a professional to verify correct ID transmission.
Troubleshooting
- If the tyre-pressure warning lamp remains on, confirm correct tyre pressures and adjust.
- Check sensor torque and sealing washer to prevent air leaks.
- Verify OE part number and radio frequency (315 MHz) match original sensor.
- Clear stored TPMS faults in the ECU before test-driving.
- Swap wheel positions to see if the fault follows the sensor (helps identify defective unit).
Notes
- Sensor is supplied pre-programmed and typically self-registers after installation.
- 1 year warranty for manufacturing faults and battery failure.
- Package contains: 1 x pre-programmed TPMS sensor (315 MHz).
