A UK guide to choosing Mercedes boot letters and wing emblems. Mercedes Accessories include rear boot lettering and separate wing emblems. They are different parts, and the letters must match the designation on the boot.
Boot letters vs wing emblems
Mercedes boot letters are the model text on the rear boot. A wing emblem is a different product: 2-piece chrome side wing / fender sticker emblems for Mercedes C, E and S-Class. Those stickers are not boot letters.
A Mercedes wing emblem chrome listing is that side sticker, sold for C, E and S-Class. It does not spell A180, A200, or any other boot designation.

Match the model text
A180 letters are not A200 letters. Match the designation on the boot. If the boot reads A180, order A180 letters. A200 characters will not reproduce that text.
The finish does not change the designation. Chrome A180 letters and black A180 letters are still A180. They are not a stand-in for A160, A200, A220, or A250.
Chrome, gloss black and matt black
A-Class letter examples on the site are listed in chrome, gloss black and matt black. Choose the finish you want on the boot, then keep the same model text.
- Chrome - Bright metal-look letters.
- Gloss black - Shiny black letters.
- Matt black - Flat black letters.
An A180 badge black listing means black A180 letters, in gloss black or matt black. It is not the chrome A180 set, and it is not A200 lettering.
A-Class examples
Letter examples for the A-Class are the designations below. Each one is its own set, in chrome, gloss black and matt black. This list is not a chassis-code chart, and it does not cover every A-Class generation.
- A160
- A180
- A200
- A220
- A250
Check the listing for the exact letters and finish. Do not assume one A-Class set fits every generation.
Fitment
These boot letters and wing emblems are cosmetic adhesive parts. Clean the panel before fitting so the adhesive sits on a sound surface. A clean panel does not make one letter set fit every A-Class generation.
Fit and clean the letters
Park on level ground and look at the boot from directly behind, then from a few metres back. Use the old letter positions, or a strip of low-tack masking tape, as a straight baseline. Do not guess by eye alone. A160 to A250 letters are separate characters, not one sticker. Wing emblems are a different part and are not lined up as boot letters.
- Space the characters evenly and keep them level with the shut line or the existing badge line. Peel the adhesive liner only after the letters are lined up, then press from the centre of each character outward.
- Wash the area with warm water and a drop of normal car shampoo, or plain warm water. Dry with a clean microfibre cloth. The panel must be dry, free of wax and polish, and not hot from sitting in direct sun.
- Do not use polish, T-Cut, acetone, nail-varnish remover, brake cleaner, isopropyl alcohol, adhesive remover, or other solvent on the new letters. Gloss black and matt black letters have a colour coat that can haze or peel. After fitting, clean the letters with a damp microfibre cloth only.

- For A-Class letters, choose chrome, gloss black or matt black.
